Elizabeth Hall, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, Department of French

This session will present ways to use podcasts in language courses which seek to promote students from intermediate to advanced levels of proficiency. We will consider two kinds of podcasts (audio and enhanced) for use in and out of the classroom as course material and student production. Session will include practical information on how to create podcasts and podcasts activities and information on guiding student production. The session will draw on Hall’s forthcoming French language textbook Textures: Pour approfondir la communication orale et écrite (Yale UP), the approach of which is holistic, seeking to encourage communication and to reinforce language structures in culturally authentic contexts.
