Hope Fitzgerald: Instructional Designer and Foreign Language Consultant, Language Commons

The UVa Language Commons is an initiative of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and a manifestation of the College’s commitment to fostering world language proficiency and intercultural competence. The Language Commons offers support, spaces, and programming to facilitate language learning and teaching at UVa. This roundtable will introduce the UVa Language Commons as a shared, collaborative resource for world language learners, instructors, and users. The session will contextualize the on-Grounds spaces of the Commons in the landscape of language learning spaces at US colleges and universities. Updates on the ongoing development of the Commons will also be presented, with time for input and discussion of future plans.
