What has Community and Civic Engagement (CCE) activities got to do with students? A Review of Spanish and Swahili Students' Outcomes

The Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) program at the University of Virginia has been connecting students with the Charlottesville area community. Some of this discussion was presented at the Institute of World Languages (IWL) retreat in May 2021.  Therefore, this presentation will not discuss the logistics of CCE, rather it will discuss CCE students’ outcomes based on our analysis of students’ work produced between 2018 and 2021.  We will use data from our Kiswahili and Spanish CCE courses.
