Movie Title: The Visitor
Join us to watch the The Visitor--a 2008 film that explores the struggles and joys of immigration, identity, and cross-cultural communication. When Tarek and Zainab, two immigrants and artists, are tricked into renting an apartment belonging to economics professor Walter Vale, the lives of the three become entangled as they try to learn from and understand one another. They all begin to discover common dreams and passions as they navigate the complex politics of immigration. Discussion to follow.
The IWL Spring Film Series is organized by the Institute of World Languages. All films are free and subtitled in English. Screenings occur on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-9pm.
