Can you design belonging?

Time/Date: Monday, November 3, 2025 (3:30-5:00 pm)
Speaker: Dr. Susie Wise
Title: Can you design belonging?
Abstract: Can you design belonging? Dr. Susie Wise says, yes and no. Belonging is a feeling. Everyone experiences it differently. What you can design are all kinds of things that help the feeling to emerge: spaces that offer invitations, rituals that bring us together, roles that develop authentic responsibility, and systems that are respectful and support creativity and innovation. Susie will share from her book Design for Belonging: How to Build Inclusion and Collaboration in Your Communities. With concrete frameworks to feel it, see it, shape it, she offers accessible ways to use creativity to build belonging and to explore the intersection of inclusion and innovation in work, community and schools.
